Sprinkler System Maintenance
Please remember to adjust your sprinkler heads for every season. The control box is located in your garage. The first thing to look into are your Zones 1 through 6. One starts with the front yard, then the large side of your yard, moving to the back, then to the smaller side of the yard and ending with your landscape bed. Start times control the time of day your entire system will begin, but each zone will only run one at a time. For example, if you set a 5:00 AM start time, Zone 1 would begin at 5:00 and move through each zone ending with Zone 6. You can also control how long each zone will run for and on what days. Typically, the larger zones need to run for longer periods and every other day is recommended.
The rain sensor is a separate box where you can adjust to the amount of rain needed in order for your sprinkler system to not run. It also has a temperature setting so in the Fall and Spring when your system is not winterized, but it’s too chilly to water, your system knows not to kick on.
Winterization Please call a landscaping company to winterize your system so it does not freeze. In the Spring, you will again need to call a landscaping company to do a start-up.
Remember, there is no warranty on plant life, including sod. Contact a landscaping professional for recommendations.
